Greenline Supervisor Shauna Sly Receives Spring 2014 MSUFCU Greenline Scholarship

On Wednesday January 15, MSUFCU Executive Vice President April Clobes presented MSU Greenline supervisor Shauna Sly with the spring 2014 MSUFCU Greenline Scholarship. This is the second time the scholarship has been presented to a Greenliner.

"Receiving this scholarship means a lot to me," said Shauna. "It means less stressing over how to pay for my tuition or rent so I can put more energy toward reaching my goals."

Shauna has a degree in Deaf Education and will graduate in May with a second degree in English. She plans to teach preschool before pursuing graduate school. One day, Shauna hopes to fulfill her dreams of becoming a professor.

Shauna has been working at MSU Greenline for four years. "What I love most about being a part of Greenline is that we do a lot of good things outside of the university for the community and I really appreciate that MSUFCU recognizes that," said Shauna.

The MSUFCU Greenline Scholarship is presented once a semester and is awarded by open application for all Greenline students and staff. The scholarship is only in its first year of existence but MSUFCU and Greenline are looking to make a long-term impact on the university. Both organizations aim to set an example for Spartans by giving to the community and constantly seeking out opportunities to improve life in East Lansing. The generosity that MSUFCU has shown by providing the scholarship is greatly appreciated.
